Michael Antunes II is
one of my premier Philipino stick fighting students, he has been
involved with the Philipino Martial Arts for several years, studying
the arts of Modern Arnis, Arnis Lanada, Arnis De Abanico, Escrima,
and Kali. These are the core arts of what we call "American-Philipino
Arnis-Escrima-Kali." Michael has placed in regional competitions
with empty hand and weapon forms and in self defense divisions
using that above mentioned arts. Michael is a 3rd generation Martial
Artist, with his grandfather, Peter, as well as his father, Michael,
who you may know as the saxophone player for "John Cafferty's
Beaver Brown Band" who was featured in "Eddie and the
Cruisers 1 & 2." The Antunes Martial Arts tradition continues
through his two sons, Michael Antunes III and Sean Antunes. Michael
has also studied Tai Chi Chuan and is certified under me in the
24 movement Wu's form and the Yang's 108 movement form. He also
holds rank in Kobujutsu and Ed Parker's American Kenpo Karate.
He is a firearms instructor/corrections officer for the Massachusetts
Department of Corrections.
